I am a native of Jefferson Parish where I attended Jefferson Parish Public Schools. Upon graduating High School, I attended Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA., where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in Children, Youth, and Family Advocacy in 2010. In 2012, I received a Master of Social Work degree from Southern University at New Orleans. I am currently registered with the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
From 2012 to 2015, I worked as a Mental Health Professional providing counseling services to adolescents and adults. From 2015 to present day, I am an Early Intervention and Special Education Social Worker with Jefferson Parish Pubic School System and a Clinical Supervisor with Cura Behavioral Health Center. I have experience working with children and adults dealing with a variety of issues such as: ADHD, PTSD, Anxiety, Grief and loss, parenting, adjustment, and emotion management.
My greatest enjoyment as a Social Worker comes from seeing my client's overcome obstacles and transform themselves and their life as they become all they were purposed to be. Greatness exists within each of us; it is our responsibility to uncover and release it.
Counseling is provided using an Eclectic Approach to therapy. The eclectic approach uses strategies and techniques from various theories to create the most individualized and effective interventions ensuring that the client's therapy is catered specifically to their needs to achieve their desired outcome.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy are evidenced-based practice interventions that work for a wide variety of diagnosis. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy examines patterns of thoughts and actions to better understand the clients’ problems and develop solutions. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is proven effective with diagnosis ranging from anxiety and depression to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and emotion/ anger problems. Solution Focused Therapy is brief psychotherapy that builds on the strengths of the clients to develop solutions for the problem and is proven effective with behavioral issues, family and couples therapy.
"Therapy isn't just what I do.
It's part of who I am."
